Intelligence

Intelligence, to a discerning mind, is nectar

To the senses, the taste may be bitter

With it, there is plenty that can be mined

It is not in the past we leave behind

Like a precision knife, it cuts to the truth

Intelligence never ages, it is the fountain of youth

It isn’t beholden to books or schools

Anyone can use it, there are no rules

It does not come with age or when we become a sage

Intelligence is the director who hides backstage

Allowing brutes to play their part

When we step back, the whole thing is a work of art

We can’t hold onto to intelligence unless it’s wisely used

It runs away from us when misused

Intelligence is the blood of existence

When we are in that stream, there is no distance
