Joy of Stillness

The tallest peak isn’t meditation

It is neither a worldly coronation

There isn’t one, first goals have to fall

And the mind made sweet and small

Like a child who is never a disturbance

Joy is her constant observance

We’ve lost that dainty link

The moment our hearts began to think

The mind coaxes heart into a pact

Taking the lead in trying to attract

Joy back into our lives

Failed attempts are stored in its archives

When these clouds have dissipated

The eternal sun may be anticipated

Releasing us from the bondage of darkness

Thrusting us into the light of stillness
