Freedom

Freedom isn’t found outside

When there is an inner divide

Making us refuse and reject

Yet it’s freedom we expect

We can’t act as we please

The chains tighten and squeeze

The senses become our cages

Behind them, a deep desire rages

Freedom from desire liberates

The inner climate it invigorates

Holding on, we have much to lose

Remembrance of choices, we peruse

If all associations loosen

Chains of bondage will soften

Freedom, it is in our hand

It’s spontaneous, not planned
