The fallen

Leaves are forgotten

Once they’ve fallen

They cannot walk

Or rise through talk

On life’s ancient tree

There’s no guarantee

When asked to vacate

There’s no way to placate

Life’s sturdy branches

Which gave us chances

To rise high and shine

On the frontline

In the time given

If we’re suitably driven

Before we’re forgotten

We can uplift the fallen
