Thankful

Thankfulness is a raincloud

It washes the heavy shroud

Woven with selfish thoughts

No one tells us the costs

With thankfulness, we rise

Uncovering a pleasant surprise

It’s behind the impenetrable wall

Of thoughts, big and small

Thankfulness is an art

The heart’s where we start

A perennial open house

Where selfishness is doused

A day filled with thankfulness

Arguments become blasphemous

Holding hands, gaze at the sky

Reason to be thankful, it may supply
