Consciousness

What’s behind consciousness?

We are hollow and bottomless

A wisp of a cloud holds us back

It isn’t so hard that it won’t crack

A sliver is all we can know

As long as the eyes remain aglow

Borrowing light from the sun

It bakes the dreams of everyone

The immensity can’t be digested

We’re lucky if a sample is tasted

Words are deliberately denied

Silence is the only guide

We are holding up the journey

Heedless and full of worry

Consciousness patiently waits

Till we cross the mind’s straits
