The Uninvited
When it comes uninvited
It’s so subtle, it’s rarely sighted
Towing our precious lifeline
Giving us the chance to shine
Working without glitter and glamour
In silence, the uninvited does not clamor
For riches, reserved for the noisy and poor
It wouldn’t be so if they shunned false grandeur
Existence owns all the words but will never speak
We are left to wonder about its mystique
To watch over us, it sends us an uninvited guest
Washing our lungs with air, allowing us rest
The uninvited will come into the open
When the mind is no more outspoken
Instead, silently joining in and watching
Rising awareness, after it’s done falling
