Inner Hunger
There is great hunger beneath the surface
To sate, we must turn off the mind’s furnace
Well cooked thoughts are sent across the screen
Unless consumed by memory, they’re never again seen
Inner hunger becomes a bridge
To escape the mind’s sales pitch
That hunger can be used as a ruse
To draw awareness from the world’s changing news
On the journey, we will forget our hunger
As we encounter an enchanting wonder
Roots spreading across the sky
To reach them we must travel in and high
Dropping hunger, thirst and bodily cares
And the mind we’ve cultivated over the years
The freshness of the inner world becomes the seed
The fruit to come will make us shun all greed
