The mind cannot be trusted with awareness

It turns that luminescence to into darkness

With a veil so thick, soft eyes are powerless

Unless the will becomes entrenched and tireless

A bridge that has become the city

The mind, it’s treacherous for the sloppy

Who fall from awareness into shallow desires

Once lit, no power can stop those fires

We are kings and queens of the living forest

Each has an inner diamond that’s flawless

The mind cannot grab it with its five limbs

It’s hidden in the depth, not where the mind swims

When the mind finally gives up

And its debts are all paid up

Eyes can finally see the naked present

Where awareness becomes a living presence
