Mind, Body and Spirit

The Overflow

When the heart starts to overflow

The mind reluctantly takes a bow

With no expectation, there’s nothing to show

Leaving only the moment, let it grow

The abundance is frittered

When the mind is littered

With seeds past their prime

Making us reverse time

In a flood without a name

The mind loses its aim

Arrows of desire lose their home

And thoughts disappear like foam

The earth’s traded in for the universe

In the overflow, when we immerse

The mind is a beacon no more

And the heart becomes the nearshore
