Doubt's Dark Shade

Under doubt’s dark shade

Assumptions are made

Reality becomes a fading light

Heralding the dawn of night

Doubt’s dark shade, it’s bright side

Becomes the ego, the guide

It isn’t an honest teacher

Making unneeded thoughts eager

Doubt’s dark shade, it lasts

When habits form permanent casts

Holding hostage, the seeker

Trying to make the resolve weaker

Doubt’s dark shade, once dispelled

Awareness dawns, it can’t be quelled

Reality rises to its height

In awe, gratitude is no longer slight
