Children
We were once children
Real, and not fill in
The inner wasn’t trouble
With nothing to ruffle
The one then doubled
Coming as if smuggled
None asked for ego
Arriving, it assumed veto
The child continues to play
On ground locked away
Taking happiness there
It is hidden, but where?
Every child’s a reminder
To be a little kinder
It cracks open a smile
Letting go ego and guile
