Mind, Body and Spirit

The Silence

The silence, when new, is heavy

Thoughts forced to stop their medley

The mind wants to burst every seam

Longing for the sound of its stream

The silence, when used as a ladder

Can bridge the abyss full of chatter

The mind tries to widen the chasm

Springing thoughts with enthusiasm

The silence, when it grows

Mind retreats into the shadows

Thoughts are orphaned

They die as the forgotten

The silence, when light, and old

We near the final threshold

The infinite lies just beyond

Words that sound fond
