Vanity
The mind has no skin
Yet it’s vanity isn’t thin
It pours into the senses
The mind’s main defenses
The face on the inside
It cannot be modified
By neither pride nor vanity
It’s the silent side of humanity
If nature displayed vanity
Humanity would atrophy
Nature is simple and plain
Such beauty we can attain
Ego’s salve is vanity
It covers a life led callously
When we shed vanity’s hide
Our true nature is magnified
