Head and Heart
The head and heart, two parallel tracks
Converge or diverge through our acts
The mind measures and calculates
The heart embraces and relates
We dance between the two
What’s done, we can’t undo
Thinking cannot become being
The seen can’t grant power of seeing
The mind’s the roof when there are walls
Boundaryless is a heart’s cavernous halls
For the mind, the ego is the address
The heart, it cannot own or possess
When a heart’s magnanimity flowers
The root of the ego withers
The mind, when longer tethered
Brings joy that can’t be measured
