Anger

We swallow the poison

Anger does not carry reason

It enters in plain sight

None can escape its bite

Why contaminate the inner sea?

Anger, it’s fangs won’t set us free

It leaves behind disgust

There’s a shelter from that bitter gust

It cannot rain upon the heart

Anger, it can’t tear it apart

Love escapes, through a back door

Evaporating to our core

The skin suffers, as blood boils

Anger, we cannot enjoy our spoils

By watching, we let rancor pass

Permanently freeing us from an impasse
