Hunger
Pangs are incessant and real
The hungry don’t have zeal
They cannot be blamed
Hunger cannot be tamed
The breadbasket is for all
Nature freely shares its haul
The mind puts a hard stop
Seeking cash for Nature’s crop
The hungry have one desire
To put an end to that fire
Who can they trust?
When clutching dry dust
There will be no more hunger
If the mind lessens the plunder
Desire grows selfish aspirations
Nature has other inclinations
