Buried Love

Buried deep under a heap

It survives, so we may reap

The fruits of unconditional love

Like a waterfall, it falls from above

When we clasp our hands behind

The heart sends its blood to remind

The fingertips to separate

And work for love, not hate

Love enters every story that’s told

Words can be bought and sold

But not love, which is wise and old

Not in a form we long to behold

To meet true love, seek the unknown

It’s an embrace where we’re never alone

It’s hard to find, but easy to treasure

What we call love, fails in every measure
