Desires

Desires don’t belong to us

They come to discuss

The future, and possibility

Underestimating our affinity

We make them ours

Unfulfilled, mood sours

It is given the lead

To let precious time bleed

Desires do not conspire

We do, as the buyer

Using tricks, we play

The game sways our way

Desires push us to become

The projected outcome

We learn as we grow

The art of letting them go
