Light

From the sun it appears

In our eyes, it disappears

Light, it never tires

It there at all hours

Through light we become

Without it, we succumb

To the darkness within

Just under our skin

Thanking light, even once

Sharpened pride blunts

We’re a lucky recipient

A light that is just ambient

Light is a miracle

It is consistent and durable

Traveling that distance

We remove it from existence
