Mind, Body and Spirit

Two ends

At the two ends, life’s dissolved

Neither may be recalled

In between, it gets serious

Where time goes, we’re oblivious

A variegated landscape

Sometimes we seek to escape

There is nowhere to go

This life, we must undergo

Other times, we feel blessed

Everything possible is possessed

Leaving is out of the question

We bristle at the suggestion

Neither is real and lasting

They are scenes, in passing

The serious discard any advice

Unwittingly, they pay a price

This chance may not repeat

We may never again meet

Awaken from the stupor

Otherwise, we’ll be poorer

Without wisdom’s touch

Past and future, both a crutch

The two are never-ending

Neither is a blessing

Life acts in the now

We’re safe, if we don’t allow

The mind to play the game

Where life it tries to reframe

--

Two ends, they’re forgotten

Both serve to caution

Against sensory excesses

They’re high expenses

Both potential and time

Are lost in our prime

Chasing shadows and memories

They suck up our energies

This, an important way stop

Play it well, we’ll be atop

The ladder that waits

To where joy never abates

The two ends, are related

Together they were created

We have entered through one

The journey can’t be undone

Between the two ends

We make many friends

None can come to our aid

When it is time to fade

We need not be afraid

We are evolution grade

Our atoms are timeless

Each one, is priceless

Destiny awaits the presence

Of our invisible essence

In a hard to reach realm

Where thoughts aren’t at the helm
