Mind, Body and Spirit

Sentience

The body listens, the mind opines

We are in the middle, looking for signs

Missing the biggest one, of sentience

It’s unmistakable, an open presence

We’re busy studying the mind’s language

To communicate with the handler of its baggage

Memory, it promises the next big story

It’s comforting, falling asleep listening to past glory

On the dividing line, between mind and body

Sentience stands, as a nobody

With two hands, both are free

To give us all, we hesitate, awaiting a guarantee

We want to take everything along

Even the mind which is headstrong

The body cannot go, it remains mute

When it knows its future is dust, sentience is moot
