The Truth

Truth cannot be chiseled out of a stony belief

And turned into a permanently frozen relief

The mind crystallizes dogma that can be felt

Before it, any experimentation will melt

The truth will not be exposed, eternity will not undress

Unless there is humility in our helplessness

Look at us, we’re beneficiaries of a lucky fling

Whisked around the sun in earth’s protective sling

The mind has its own assorted variety

Through the senses, stuffing us to satiety

Those from the lips, mind, and heart

Speak of the truth in bits and parts

The vapors of truth are everywhere

The mind isn’t the legitimate heir

It tells nothing about ourselves

Forcing upon us beliefs lying on bookshelves
