The Journey
The journey may be completed in a day
From sunrise to sunset if we’re determined not to stay
With the mind, which wanders from the light
It is interested in a darker sight
Enlightenment isn’t a dispensation
Or a rare and fanciful citation
It’s in every sunrise and sunset
Each has freedom without debt
In the rising of awareness, there’s setting of ignorance
There is a faint recollection, of a resemblance
To a bridge, it’s easier to cross during the day’s light
Everyone’s welcome, even those who can’t read or write
Before the horizon lands the sun
Our journey must be over and done
The next sunrise is reserved for another
And we wake up to the mind, our dear brother
