Leaves
A leaf, an expression
Of a tree’s devotion
To nature’s greenery
An ever-changing scenery
Waxy and richly veined
To a branch, they’re chained
Tempted by the wind
Remaining where pinned
Both beauty and necessity
In the mind, it’s a rarity
Amid the changing scenes
We create hard routines
Unable to fall like leaves
The old, memory retrieves
Barren to new growth
There’s boredom we loathe
