Enemies, accumulate

Silently working to create

An awareness, it’s unpleasant

We gain if we don’t resent

They keep us awake 

We’re afraid, they may take

Possessions, we guard

Enemies, we can’t disregard

They may appear as real

Wait for time’s wheel

On which they come and go

They can’t stay and grow

Enemies, we must thank

More valuable than a bank

Our weakness, they know

They teach us how to grow
