As we try to extract
From life, pleasure
To enjoy in leisure
There lurks pain
It may remain
It won’t depart
Settling in the heart
A life of pain
It’s hard to entertain
Why does it happen?
Untimely and sudden
When we understand
It’s easy to withstand
Harshness of pain
Pleasure, we can’t chain
