Fear

The cloud within needs its ally, fear

But for it, the way in would be clear

The dance of life will have a different move

One in which there’s nothing left to prove

It isn't easy to cleanse ourselves of fear

It has infected everything we hold dear

The threat of a loss may come to bear

And the future may become empty as air

We grudgingly hold onto fear

When what lays ahead is unclear

Fear will leave and disappear

When awareness is what we revere

What’s left after fear’s gone?

The next moment appears as a new dawn

Leaving behind life, we thought was lost

Full of happiness, with no hidden cost
