Pendulum
A pendulum carries all our deeds
Biding time holding their seeds
A harvest or famine, who’s to blame?
It’s exacting, and not an unfair game
Deeds are preceded by choice
It’s never wrong if we listen to the voice
The pendulum’s return is a reminder
What comes back can make us wiser
The pendulum is always on the move
Even if we’re still and disapprove
The past may catch up at an inopportune time
And it can take down achievements most sublime
The swing of the pendulum will stop
When expectations completely drop
Time will have no more seeds to sow
The future is no surprise when we’re in the know
