Steady Mind
Like a bulb in a constant flicker
The mind shakes with a false shimmer
The balancing act becomes a pursuit
Making life a long commute
Thoughts become stumbling blocks
Some turn up as rude shocks
The mind made steady is our gold
With it, all misery will fold
A steady mind can lend a hand
To the walk that is unplanned
No moment is lost in awareness
Light spreads in that sparseness
With awareness held straight and taut
The weary traverse the final thought
There isn’t a horizon for the sun to dip
Past travails become a faint blip
