The Gap
In the gap, where it’s dark
We pray for a spark
Joining hands, we hope to unite
With what remains out of sight
There’s a gap, it is an opening
The astute can’t help noticing
Our hands and legs can rest
As awareness is put to the test
This gap, the key to the mystery
It’s momentary, has no history
When a moment is extended
The joy it brings can be splendid
The gap, comes with a bridge
It isn’t a permanent niche
Choosing the way ahead wisely
Gaps in happiness become tiny
