Darkness
When swallowed by darkness
We renounce peace and stillness
The mind hides the inner spark
From awareness, we disembark
There’s a faint trace of light inside
It’s wisdom’s fire, it won’t subside
No darkness can be absolute
It tests our will, whether it is resolute
Our ornaments can’t glitter when dark
Imagination can, it’s mind’s trademark
We forget the light we’ve been promised
By intuition, the mind says it is a novice
Dark to light, it has universal appeal
In the first rays of the sun the joy we feel
Makes us forget darkness, it’s can’t reveal
From it, our awareness we must peel
