Awareness
Awareness makes us a sponge
Into life, we eagerly lunge
Through each encounter, we learn
To embrace life, not spurn
Spilled time, we then soak up
With the present, we make up
Through every breath, we mine
The depths beneath memory’s brine
Wishing stops, living begins
As we shed accumulated skins
The bare truth may be revealed
It becomes our protective shield
Living in awareness is fun
We are witness to history’s rerun
Of desires and past mistakes
Awareness reduces their stakes
