Many are its decrees

It is hard to please

We remain, on our toes

Swept by highs and lows

Pride won’t let us speak

About what we really seek

Riches over penury

Unblighted by misery

It keeps us working

In thoughts, searching

Through means and ends

The mind comprehends

Ultimately no one wins

As time tires and thins

Unless, we stop the barter
