Mind, Body and Spirit

Winners and losers

There are no winners

Losers or sinners

Our deeds are openly seen

We can’t hide behind a screen

In the museum of the past

Our lives are rehashed

Those who care to look

It is like reading a book

Not just about ourselves

But of humanity itself

Everything is a projection

Within, is ripe for reflection

Fundamentally, we’re similar

Under skins of varying color

The mind has a dominant role

Operating a hidden console

Pushing many buttons

Thoughts, by the dozens

Swarm the only private space

So tempting, we chase

The mind, it sets up a game

Winners or losers, it will proclaim

Polarizing our interior

Erecting a formidable barrier

Insurmountable to some

To the mind, they succumb

To avoid feeling defeated

They may turn, conceited

__

To see through this game

We need to set a new aim

Not the downhill variety

But of sensory sobriety

Perhaps an uphill task

By shedding our mask

We are lighter, more agile

Nothing to protect that’s fragile

The first steps may be rough

Calling the mind’s clever bluff

There is more that lies beyond

The world of thoughts, only a pond

Shedding the ingrained notion

About winning and promotion

Looking at the heavenly multitude

It may trigger deep gratitude

We’re given a window to the rest

Gets bigger, as we pass each test

Eventually, out in the open

We’re free of inner corrosion

The mind is formidable, to tame

We must end the urge to proclaim

Any wins, while hiding losses

Every step, we must be cautious

Our deeds, leave an indelible mark

They’re not ignored as we embark

On the road to our destiny

To reclaim our divine legacy
