The World Within
The world we seek sleeps within
We were once awake, it appears we’ve never been
The mind searches and comes to the rescue
Keeping us apart as me and you
It’s self-sufficient, the inner space
When we grab the mind, there is poverty of grace
In the mind we create, beyond it we witness
Both are born, from the womb of stillness
What we seek of the world, it’s inside
We’re desperately searching as if the soul’s died
We are awakened to a mirage of misery
The eyes cannot penetrate that mystery
If only the world within had more gravity
We would not cross the lines of depravity
When the world ends its slumber
A sign we are awake, we won’t be somber
