Silent Affirmation

Silence is the greatest affirmation

It lasts for an infinite duration

Without it, we would not heal

Wounds, which time helps us conceal

It is silence which permits us to affirm

Well before the tongue moves like a worm

The words are imprinted in a special space

Knowing it exists is a gift from grace

To reach it, words must be dropped

And the wayward tongue stopped

Words cannot bridge the divide

Between silence and hidden pride

When the mind is affirmed

Thoughts are easily confirmed

They are the thieves, living off our silence

We are free if we can do without their guidance
