Beyond Shadows

Shadows carry no memories

They cannot tell stories

Thousands cast out daily

Dropping silently and safely

Dark weightless carpets

To the earth they’re harmless

Shadows are everywhere

Unafraid, open and bare

In the mind’s shadow lies

A hidden sunrise

Dropping the mind’s clothes

We leave its throes

As shadows creep taller

We become smaller

Struggling with different shades

Forgotten is a light that never fades
