The uncertain
Gripped by fear, of the certain
We embrace the uncertain
It becomes what we know
We believe it’s a permanent glow
Like waves afraid of a beach
We float, to be out of reach
Of a promise we silently made
Emerging from the womb’s shade
That promise, time may forget
To live in joy, not regret
Entering is unique and uncertain
Leaving is common and certain
There isn’t a reason to be fearful
Neither is there one to be cheerful
This moment, it is very certain
But thoughts take us to the uncertain
