Time resets
Every moment, time resets
Busy with assets and regrets
We fail, to renew ourselves
From burdensome old selves
Time is always serious
It’s dismissive and imperious
When we want it most
As life comes to an abrupt close
Time’s forgotten when young
It counts, each time we fill a lung
There’s a clock within us all
It’s hung on the mind’s wall
When we dip into the past
The present does not last
Losing the chance to reset
Time will remain a threat
