Other Self
The sun’s isn’t suffering isolation, it’s companion is space
We aren’t either, we have the sky’s blue glace
Adding the burdens of the mind’s tome
The other self is sent to sleep at home
Spokespersons of the mind’s dominion
Wear faces of wavering opinions
But we cannot put a face when there’s no name
Our other self’s shyness brings it fame
Skin isn’t it’s mask
The body serves as it’s flask
Time drinks from it
At sunset, their ways split
Our other self isn’t moved to pick and choose
It’s lips never part, even if there’s enough to amuse
That self isn’t isolated, the companion is the eternal lull
When the two become one there’s nothing left to annul
