Yesterday
Yesterday, it’s burnt, by time into its exhaust
How was it so easily lost?
It does not easily give into remembrance
Unless something special makes an entrance
There are many such yesterdays
That are now in memory’s braise
What are we to do with that collection?
It’s too vast to have an individual connection
When the inner space is built with those bricks
The past will never darken or be eclipsed
It will be strengthened by this moment, it is waiting in line
To reach yesterday’s unrecognizable coastline
Yesterday, it was once fuel for the engine of time
Which is now onto carefree lives at their prime
We can safely turn off time’s destructive burner
When we wear awareness in every moment as our armor
