Talking Trees
Trees aren’t blind, they witness change
Roots can smell what’s new and strange
Humans are kept in the dark
For they have their own monarch
The mind is where we sprout and grow
As far as our eye can see, that’s all we know
The ground we fight for holds many secrets
Hidden until we drop the mind and go sleepless
Sitting under a tree, the wind will also talk
To the unaware, it may be an unintelligible squawk
The wind knows it all, it has never left
To get it talking, it will be a stern test
Trees know how to be gentle
When leaves fall, they get sentimental
Bereft of thoughts, we become like trees
And existence talks to us through a special breeze
