Reason has a long reach

If you count inaudible speech

Ringing through the mind

Of rational thoughts we get behind

Reason is held by the sensible

If they happen to be flexible

There’s a reasonable chance

Of penetrating the inner expanse

Reason can open a door

We won’t remain as before

But we can’t depend on its tracks

Once the mind develops cracks

It happens when the heart swells

With love and compassion as parallels

Reason cannot explain that joy

When we are in the heart’s employ
