Bridge across life
A bridge that bends at either end
Will remain a steadfast friend
Feet cannot desecrate
What saves us from a river in spate
Our backs can become bridges
Taking us from poverty to riches
From the world in which we drown
To the bliss of the bridge’s crown
When we stand firm continuing labor of love of yore
Putting aside enjoyment found on either shore
Such a bridge once laid
Will come to everyone’s aid
In crossing life’s ceaseless riverine flow
Lights on such a bridge will always glow
Day or night, that bridge’s duty is never over
Until all footsteps are safely in divinity’s enclosure
